Brytni and Dax got to start off their new year as husband and wife! One great perk of being a photographer in Mississippi is that you can have good weather pretty much all year. And their wedding day happened to be a beautiful January day! The wedding party got ready at Lawndale Presbyterian Church, where Dax’s family are members. (I actually used to work with his sister Maggie at the Journal!) Their first look took place where they love to take walks at a spot along the Natchez Trace, and was actually the spot where Dax proposed to Brytni! It was so special that we were able to do their first photos of the day there. After, we headed back for more photos at the church. The ceremony was beautiful and had unique personal touches, like the processional song was the instrumental version of “You’ll Be In My Heart,” Brytni’s favorite Disney song, and Dax’s father and Brytni’s grandfather read from the Bible in English and Spanish. After Dax and Brytni became husband and wife, they celebrated at their reception! Dax’s sister Annakathryn baked the beautiful cake (his other sister Zoey has an eye for photography- a very talented family!) and they played the hilarious Newlywed shoe game. They danced and Brytni got to reunite with her BlackList sisters from MUW. The happy couple exited to their family and friends throwing bird seed as the two got in their getaway car to head off to Hawaii! Dax and Brytni are the sweetest, and I am so happy I got to kick off 2018 with them!

Fall is a pretty perfect time to have a wedding in Mississippi. The weather isn’t too crazy and it’s cooled off just enough. Emilee and Ben had a beautiful fall September wedding! The day was filled with Nerf gun fights, giggly flower girls, around the corner hand holding, a Nintendo groom’s cake, and so much love! Seriously. You should’ve seen Ben’s face light up when he saw Emilee! The ceremony and reception took place at Auburn Baptist Church, where is where both Emilee and Ben’s parents were married! Emilee’s grandparents were also married there, so it is so special they were able to carry on that tradition! After Emilee and Ben exchanged vows and rings and said “I do,” they mingled with family and friends in the fellowship hall. They cut their cakes, sipped on Jones soda and filled up at the candy bar. At the end of the day, the two exited to their getaway car with bubbles, it was so lovely! I wish you all the happiness in your marriage, Ben and Emilee!

So if rain on your wedding day means good luck, what does a *double rainbow* mean!? We seriously lucked out on Jen and Travis’ wedding day! The weather was great as the bridal party got ready, and as we did group photos. During the ceremony, it started to downpour with rain! It didn’t damper the mood inside though, and these two had a very touching ceremony that incorporated their parents, friends and everyone else gathered at the church Jen grew up attending. We got lucky with another break in the rain, and we were able to take some great photos at the golf course where the reception was taking place, Chemung Hills! Bonus points: we got to ride around on golf carts! :) The whole bridal party entered the reception in style, and the cutting of the cake was followed by some very sweet speeches by Jen’s dad and her maid of honor, and Travis’ brother/best man. So it started raining again, and once it cleared, we were able to get Jen and Travis’ portrait with a double rainbow!! So awesome! And such a cool story they can tell their kids about their beautiful wedding day! The couple enjoyed the rest of their evening chatting with guests and reconnecting with old friends from high school and college, and dancing the night away! I had such a great time celebrating and capturing memories with Jen and Travis in Michigan!
