Emily+Alan//wedding

Emily is a coworker of mine at the Journal, she works for one of the sister papers in Amory. I also took her daughter’s senior portraits a few years ago! I was honored when she asked me to photograph her and Alan’s intimate wedding! Emily looked like a timeless beauty, and Alan looked dapper in his gray suit. These two have such a natural ease together, smiling and laughing all of the time.

The wedding was held at the beautiful antebellum home called The Magnolias in Aberdeen. We got through all of the photos of Emily and Alan and their families before some storm clouds rolled in. A last minute decision was made to move the ceremony indoors, and Emily and Alan were so laid back throughout the whole day. They were just concerned about getting married surrounded by their closest friends and family, and a little rain didn’t change that! The ceremony was held on the landing of the staircase, and afterwards everyone enjoyed cake and hors d’oeuvres. It was a simply sweet day!

I hope all of your days are spent smiling and laughing with each other, Emily and Alan! I wish you all the best!

Sena+Will//wedding

Sena contacted me about wedding photography about a year ago, a little bit before Will proposed to her. Yes, before! Sena and Will are *middle school sweethearts* so it wasn’t a matter of ‘if’ Will would ask, but ‘when’! I got to see firsthand how head over heels these two are for each other when they came to Tupelo last fall for their engagement session. Not only are they madly in love, but they are also some of the kindest, sweetest people I have ever had the chance to meet.

Sena and Will started their wedding day at the Holmes House, which is this gorgeous bed and breakfast on the Holmes Community College campus, where they went to school. Bethany Sigrest with OAK: A Southern Experience was there working her magic on almost every detail of the wedding day, from the cake, to the flowers, to the invitation suite to the catering. Sena’s jewelry had touches of rose gold, and Will’s wedding band was made out of deer antler because he loves to hunt. How awesome is that! Everything looked so beautiful! When we started the day with the first look, I couldn’t help but grin when Sena and Will laid eyes on each other. Both of them were radiating with so much love and happiness! I also very much enjoyed getting to know Sena and Will’s friends and family- they are surrounding by such a strong, loving group of people. Sena prayed with her mother, sisters and bridesmaids while waiting for the ceremony to begin, and there was not a dry eye in the room.

The ceremony was at the Chapel on campus (scroll down to see photos, beautiful!), and Sena and Will professed their love to God and each other in front of their loved ones. Two became one, and they were off to the ceremony! Sena’s younger cousins have a band called American Hope, and they performed at the reception back at the Holmes House. At the end of the day, guests waved ribbons as Sena and Will raced to their getaway car, Will’s grandfather’s amazing green Ford antique car! I’m so so happy for you, Sena and Will! Your wedding day was absolutely beautiful, and I’m honored to have been a part of it!

Megan+Sam//wedding

I met Megan and Sam with Sam’s family when we went on a tour of their beautiful venue, Hollow Creek Plantation. It was so fun getting to meet them, and share a meal at George’s in New Albany after (go there ASAP). On the big day, Megan was absolutely radiant. And super calm. She was ready to marry her man! Sam was laughing and joking throughout the day, and make his signature “Sam face” at the camera quite a few times! We started the day with their first look, which we did right on the edge of the water of the lake where the ceremony was going to take place. The setting was almost as stunning as this two!

Once the ceremony started, Megan rode in with her father on a horse-pulled carriage! It added a super unique touch to the day. They exchanged vows surrounded by friends and family, and the reception followed at the covered pavilion. They cut their gorgeous tiered buttercream wedding cake, and Sam’s golf themed groom’s cake. They danced, drank bottle Cokes and enjoyed the company of those they love best. They ended the night with a sparkler exit, which are so much fun to photograph! Sam’s sister Claire was their videographer, and it was fun working with her throughout the day!

The Wises went on a cruise for their honeymoon (jealous!) and I want to wish them all the best and a long and happy marriage! I just know these two are going to enjoy their journey together so much!
