Over Fourth of July weekend, I had the chance to head down to the Orange Beach, Ala. area to visit my aunt and cousin, and to meet the newest members of the family. My cousin and his wife welcomed twins Kash and Kyser in June, so they were only a few weeks old when I saw them! I was also so happy I got to do a little photo shoot with them. These two are definitely my youngest subjects to date, so this was also a fun challenge for me. But it was just so fun seeing the little fingers and noses and toes, all x2! :D

Julie and I go way back. We were locker buddies all throughout school because we both have ‘W’ last names, starting back in fifth grade! We even went to the same college (go green!) I’m so glad we have kept in touch, and I was absolutely thrilled when she and her fiancé Shea asked me to shoot their August wedding in the mitten! *happy dance* We were able to get together up in Michigan for their engagement shoot in downtown Detroit, which is a photographer’s dream. There are SO many awesome spots to do photos, like the Fox Theater and the riverwalk near the Ren Cen. And I had some wonderful subjects! All of this, plus a beautiful summer sunset made for an amazing shoot. Counting down the days until I’m back in Michigan for their wedding!

When I first met Cara and Wesley, the first thing I took in about them was that they are both pretty tall(!). As soon as I introduced myself, it was immediate to me how kind they both are. There is so much I can say about Cara and Wesley and their wedding day, but one word can really sum everything up: love. It made my heart so happy to witness these two coming together as one, surrounded by their wonderful family and friends. As I was editing the photos, I couldn’t help but smile as I saw Cara’s contagious smile pop up in so many of the frames. Cara and Wesley are so in love, and were so excited to be married. They are also some of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you so much Cara and Wesley!
