Morgan+Cody//wedding

Morgan and Cody got married on a beautiful spring day, which is something Morgan said she has always dreamed about! The wedding and reception took place at Morgan’s church she grew up in, Old Union Baptist Church in Shannon. Cody got ready with his groomsman, a number of which are his fishing buddies. (He has fished competitively and it is something he and Morgan like to do together!)  Morgan and her girls got ready at the church, and then after doing some photos, Morgan walked down the aisle with her dad to get married to Cody! It was a beautiful, traditional ceremony that included a cross-building led by Morgan’s brother. After they said their vows, it was time for the reception! Morgan and Cody put a lot of time and effort into making the church’s gym a jaw-dropping reception hall! They created an amazing string light chandelier that they hung from the ceiling, and oh my, was it gorgeous! They cut their cakes (check out Cody’s grooms cake, it’s a neat hunting themed one!) and mingled with their friends and family. Morgan and Cody said farewell as their guests waved ribbons, and they took off in a 1937 Chevy! Congratulations to Morgan and Cody!

Karye+Lynn//wedding

Karye and Lynn are seriously some of the sweetest people ever. I had the honor of taking Karye’s bridal session before their big day! The wedding day started at the church where they first met! Karye did a bridesmaid reveal with her girls, while the guy’s hung out in the church nursery to get ready. Karye and Lynn chose to do a first look, and y’all- it was so special! There were so many emotions, from tears, to big laughs (like when Karye showed off her blue socks she was rocking with her high heels!). We were also able to do portraits outside, which was amazing since there was a storm warning that day! But it cleared right up right when we got ready for their bride and groom portraits! The church quickly filled up with guests attending the wedding. Karye was walked down the aisle by her father and her step-father, and all of Karye and Lynn’s parents and stepparents gathered to pray over the couple at the beginning of the ceremony. Lynn also got emotional seeing his bride walking down the aisle, which made me tear up all over again (after tearing up during the first look!). The alter was filled with a beautiful door archway and a floral arrangement created by Karye’s aunts and mother, and the couple built a unity cross together. After the two walked down the aisle as husband and wife, everyone traveled over the to Pontotoc Community House for the reception! They had delicious BBQ, a donut wall (!!), and a coconut grooms cake. Karye’s cousin-in-law’s bluegrass band played some music as guests mingled. We got to sneak off for some in-the-rain-umbrella photos, which may have been some of my favorite of the day! The night ended with a sparkler exit, and the two drove off in an old Ford pick-up lent to them by one of Lynn’s family members! I’m so happy these two are married!

Chelsea+Nate//wedding

Ok so it may have been an unseasonably chilly spring day, with a little bit of rain and mud, but my goodness did Chelsea and Nate have a beautiful wedding day! Chelsea’s father owns the wedding venue Manning Gardens in Guntown, and that is where both the ceremony and reception were held. We started the day with photos at a last-minute indoor location, an old factory in downtown Tupelo (yay for flexible wedding couples!). Chelsea and Nate exchanged letters and held hands around a corner, sharing a sweet moment together before seeing each other at the ceremony. The ceremony was brimming with so much love, and brought pretty much everyone there to tears (including myself!). After the ceremony, the reception brought a first dance, the best red velvet cake I think I’ve ever tasted and many smiles and hugs with the newlywed couple and their guests. Before the end of the day, Chelsea’s dad shared a photo slideshow he made to their close family and friends. They all gathered to pray with Chelsea and Nate, sending them off safely for their honeymoon in Hawaii! Congratulations Chelsea and Nate! :)
